Siemens and SAS partner to deliver AI-embedded IoT analytics for edge and cloud

Two global firms have combined their specialties to provide what they describe as the most comprehensive, open-compatible artificial intelligence framework for the Internet of Things.

Analytics vendor, SAS, brings its advanced and predictive analytics to the Siemens MindSphere product, from industrial digital transformation vendor, Siemens Digital Industries Software.

The partnership sees Siemens MindSphere embedding SAS streaming analytics to meet growing demands for IoT analytics with artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.

Siemens MindSphere customers work in a range of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, energy and utilities, smart cities, transportation and automotive.

The combination means these customers can increase productivity and reduce operational risk through predictive and prescriptive maintenance, and optimised asset performance management, among other applications.
The partners expect to have the solution available later this year, enabling near real-time embedded AI for IoT devices at the edge.

Customers who currently use Siemens MindSphere will gain access to powerful SAS analytics capabilities, while those customers who already use SAS will be able to port and deploy previously developed SAS modules natively into MindSphere, enhancing their investment in both products.
